If you love animated movies, then you're in luck. The big studios (Dreamworks, Disney, and Sony Pictures) have a spate of amazing features slated for release in the upcoming year. Below is an overview of 5 of most highly anticipated films coming down the pipeline.

Moana

Moana is set in the South Pacific, during ancient times. The lead character is a young girl who sets out to find a secret island. Her companion on this trip is the Polynesian demigod Maui. The former wrestler, The Rock, will voice Maui. The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) is half Samoan, so he has an emotional connection to the material. The lead character is voiced by a young girl who is from Hawaii. Walt Disney has already released the first trailer which features a funny exchange between the two characters. Some of the songs for the film were composed by Lin Manuel Miranda, who got lots of media attention earlier this year for the Broadway show Hamilton.

Trolls

Trolls is an upcoming Dreamworks film. It's based on the popular line of Troll dolls. The two leads are voiced by Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick. The plot of the film centers around the two leads having to save their fellow trolls from the trolls' arch nemesis, the Bergens.

The film is already getting lots of attention due to the release of one of the songs sung by Justin Timberlake (Can't Stop That Feeling.) The film will also feature songs by Ariana Grande and Gwen Stefani.

Storks

Storks is based on the idea that storks no longer deliver babies, but instead they deliver packages for a gigantic corporation. The plot takes off when one young stork (voiced by SNL alum Andy Samberg) makes a mistake and accidentally "activates" a baby-making machine and ends up with an unauthorized baby to deliver. Other actors voicing storks include Kelsey Grammer and Jennifer Aniston.

The Boss Baby

The Boss Baby was made by Dreamworks. It is based on the best selling book. The plot revolves around a nefarious plot by a CEO (voiced by Steve Buscemi), a baby who carries a briefcase and is involved in business (voiced by Alec Baldwin), and the Boss Baby's older brother who sets out to stop the wicked CEO. Other characters are voiced by Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel.

Sing

Sing is an upcoming animated musical comedy. Matthew McConaughey voices a kola bear who needs to raise money in order to save his theater. So he decides to host a singing contest. He does this with the help of his best friend, a sheep, voiced by John C. Reilly. Other actors voicing roles include Reese Witherspoon and American Idol alum Tori Kelly.
